Article - Making the Most of an Exercise Program from your Trainer
Here are some suggestions for making the most of an exercise program from your trainer:
1. Understand exercise recommendations – Sometimes exercise recommendations can be complicated. Take the time to learn them correctly from the beginning and your routine will be more fun and more beneficial.
2. Keep goals in mind – Set goals that you and your trainer believe are realistic. Even small goals give you something to work toward and can motivate you to stick to your exercise program.
3. Set up a routine – Regular exercise is safer, and will yield the best results. Some of your exercises can even be done at home while watching TV. You may even start to look forward to your exercises and have fun!
4. Report new aches or pains – If new aches or pains appear while performing your exercise routine, make sure to report them to your trainer. Pain can limit your ability to follow your exercise routine and decrease your mobility. If there is an exercise you are performing and you just don’t like it, let a trainer show you another. There are lots of different ways to strengthen and/or stretch the same muscle group.
